Description

Jupiter was 2 degrees to the lower right of the waxing gibbous Moon on the night of June 3rd. The pair was nicely visible high in the southern sky that night. I couldn't get both the Moon and Jupiter in the field of view of my C8 SCT even with the F6.3 Focal Reducer, so I took separate images of the Moon in one frame and the lower limb of the Moon and Jupiter in a second frame and stitched them together using Microsoft Image Composition Editor (ICE). The stitched image was post-processed in Star Tools to produce the final image.
